Mud Pie Kitchen

I have seen a lot of FUN mud pie kitchens on Pinterest and thought we would try our hand at one! My daughter had a blast playing in the mud and ended up creating our own Mud Pie Restaurant. My favorite entrees: chicken noodle mud soup and dirt covered strawberries. This is an EASY summer activity that will provide lots of fun, imaginative play for your little ones!

Materials:
Dishes We used play dishes, because we have a lot of them that unfortunately don’t get used inside. But they are getting plenty of use outside!
Mud
Bucket of Water
Aprons not shown in this picture, but we used them on other occasions and they helped keep my daughter’s clothes nice and clean! And it added to the whole kitchen thing 🙂

Hope you all are having a fun summer! Happy Teaching!

Restaurant Fun

My daughter LOVES the Olive Garden. We share that same love of yummy salad and Italian food! I thought it would be fun to play restaurant at home (you just can’t eat out all the time!) My husband was really cute and played right along. While I started preparing the bread, he helped her to color a menu.

And while I set the table and got everything in order, he changed Into a tie and helped my daughter get dressed up. I was told it was a special “date”. I was the waitress/cook/greeter (but was called the “cash register” by my daughter) and loved every second of it. Next up- “Daddy Dinner”. Who knew restaurant play could be so fun?

Picnic Table Talk- Imaginative Play

Welcome ABC and 123 readers!
This is my favorite kind of play! I love to watch my little one pretend play by feeding her dolls. We will turn a basket upside down and use that as the dolly’s table- setting it with mini dishes, cups, pots, and pans. She will then grab the play food and say “yummy” while feeding it to her babies (as well as the blocks, books- anything in sight!). She will even try and feed Mommy! Scrumptious!
We also like to pretend play with the cardboard house (thanks to the old dishwasher for breaking causing us to buy a new one). She has a purple chair inside that she likes to sit on while eating snacks. She likes it when I sit in there too- its mighty squishy!
Isn’t it lovely home decor though? Just seems to tie our living room together…
