Bye Bye Books

I recently went through ALL my children’s books for a community service project. It was hard- VERY HARD- to do, but my attic is lighter and the local elementary school is now enjoying over 300 books.

Don’t feel too bad for me though- we still have all these tubs full of books (that are not always stored in the kitchen),

plus my leveled reading book tubs, my upper grade picture book tubs, AND all the books in Boo’s room, playroom, kitchen cupboard (yes I do have a kitchen cupboard full of children’s books! How pathetic am I?)
Happy Teaching!!
p.s. Boo’s newest favorite book: There’s a Nightmare in My Closet. We just can’t get enough of it!

Nice! Very jealous of all your books, we LOVE books like crazy over here. I am going to have to check out There’s A Nightmare in My Closet.

I think we are on our second copy of that book.

By the time my kids outgrow a book, they’re in no shape to be read by anyone else.

Most of these books were tattered, out dated, or duplicates of books I already owned. . . that made getting rid of them much easier 🙂 As a teacher, I never got rid of any book no matter how used and abused it got! I am finally at the point where I can let go of SOME!

I am a substitute teacher for a couple days a week, and I remember I subbed for preK and the kids wanted me to read “Nightmare in my closet” about 4 times in a row! They loved it.
